August – October 2025
“Healing ourselves, healing the earth, healing the community.”
Namaste,
As the gentle winds of autumn flow through Lakshmigrama, we find ourselves reflecting on the many blessings that have shaped our journey this season. The past few months have been filled with learning, service, and celebration, all rooted in the same essence that sustains us: Ayurveda as a way of life.
Through every camp, retreat, ritual, and act of kindness, the Punarnava family continues to grow in love and purpose. We extend heartfelt gratitude to our patrons, donors, volunteers, and well-wishers who nurture this vision through their support and prayers. Together, we are creating a living model of holistic health, where nature, community, and consciousness move in harmony.
With blessings and gratitude,
~ Team Punarnava Ayurveda Trust

Ayurveda Learning
At Vaidyagrama, learning is a continuous, living process unfolding through practice, reflection, and shared experience. Our retreats and programs are pathways for seekers, healers, and students to rediscover Ayurveda’s timeless relevance in daily life.

Shatavari : The Nourisher of Life
Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) is one of the most revered herbs in Ayurveda, especially celebrated for its profound benefits in supporting women’s
reproductive health. While popularly misinterpreted as “a woman with a hundred husbands,” the true etymology, as clarified by Acharya Bhanoji Deekshitha, refers to its anatomy : “शतेन आवृणोति इति” “ That which is covered by hundreds (of roots)”.
This aligns with its physical structure, as Shatavari’s juicy tuberous roots lie hidden beneath the soil, forming a dense network. These roots, the main medicinal part, are known to balance hormones and enhance fertility and lactation. Modern studies affirm its phytoestrogenic properties, aligning with classical wisdom that fresh roots offer the greatest potency. Beyond women’s wellness, Shatavari also supports digestion, strengthens the nervous system, and cools the body with its earthy-sweet energy. Truly, it is a herb that nourishes both body and mind, embodying the essence of rasayana rejuvenation.
